About the Business Unit

The Business Unit at Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz College of Emergency Medical Services is the investment arm dedicated to developing products and initiatives that meet the needs of the community and clients. Supported by faculty members specialized in various fields, and leveraging our extensive network of professionals and experts within King Saud University and beyond, we provide a comprehensive range of training and consulting services tailored to meet our clients' needs.

The Business Unit offers specialized services in areas such as emergency and risk management, business continuity, occupational health and safety, and emergency medical services. These services aim to equip your organization with essential skills to ensure your team is prepared to face future challenges and implement best global practices.

Vision

To lead and excel locally and regionally in providing advisory, training, and research services in the fields of emergency sciences, safety, and occupational health.

Mission

To establish effective partnerships that aim for integration between the college and the public and private sectors, stimulate and diversify sources of income, and employ and develop skills and resources at the college through entrepreneurship, project development, programs, and services, marketed both locally and globally, ensuring financial sustainability.

Objectives of the Unit

  1. Establish a contact point for communication with beneficiary organizations wishing to benefit from the college's expertise in both public and private sectors.
  2. Develop a database of beneficiaries, communication channels, and their needs.
  3. Establish and continuously update a database of conferences, seminars, and training programs at the college.
  4. Form agreements and partnerships with organizations to expand the college's activities in collaboration with the King Abdullah Institute for Research and Consulting Studies.
  5. Promote and announce available training programs.
  6. Enhance the university's financial resources by utilizing available capabilities and resources.

Unit Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate with the King Abdullah Institute for Research and Consulting Studies regarding the unit’s operations.
  2. Communicate with organizations in the public and private sectors to promote the unit’s services.
  3. Supervise and manage the execution of available programs.
  4. Maintain and manage a database of training programs, consulting services, and related operations.
  5. Track and follow up on requests from beneficiary organizations.
  6. Issue and authenticate training certificates.
  7. Create and maintain a database of trainers, experts, consultants, and faculty members by specialization for use in the unit’s operations.
  8. Prepare an annual report on the unit’s activities for approval and submission to the King Abdullah Institute for Research and Consulting Studies.

Organizational Structure

The unit consists of three main offices.

1. Business Development Office

  1. Innovating and developing products and services that meet client needs and align with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals.
  2. Conducting market research and analyzing trends.
  3. Developing business strategies, including training and consulting products.
  4. Building and managing relationships with clients and key partners.
  5. Identifying and forming new public and private sector partnerships.
  6. Leading marketing and sales efforts to achieve revenue targets.
  7. Preparing customized proposals for clients.
  8. Collaborating with other departments to support business development objectives.
  9. Monitoring performance and preparing periodic reports.

2. Project Implementation Office

  1. Managing and executing major projects aligned with strategic goals.
  2. Developing project management methodology from initiation to completion.
  3. Supporting and training project managers on the project methodology.
  4. Preparing reports for senior management and archiving lessons learned from completed projects.
  5. Updating and organizing records related to office activities.
  6. Identifying resource needs and securing them after approval.
  7. Monitoring project execution to ensure adherence to budget and timelines.

3. Life Support Office

  1. Maintaining international and local accreditation related to life support courses.
  2. Conducting scheduled and unscheduled site visits to ensure adherence to policies and procedures, particularly those of the American Heart Association.
  3. Establishing new partnerships with potential training sites.
  4. Organizing specialized short courses and promoting them to external entities.

Initiatives

  1. Strengthening the role of the college in sustainability and community service.
  2. Promoting training programs to both public and private sector organizations.
  3. Measuring success through performance indicators (KPIs).

Achievements

  1. Developed and designed a detailed guide for services related to consulting and training courses, tailored to the labor market.
  2. Created sponsorship plans and contracts to offer different levels of sponsorship (diamond, platinum, gold, and silver) with flexible options to match sponsor objectives.
  3. Maximized the use of key meetings and events for marketing sponsorship plans, such as the International Social Responsibility Forum in Riyadh, 26-29 October 2024.
  4. Collaborated with the King Abdullah Institute to establish a clear legal framework for partnerships.
  5. Prioritized infrastructure development within the college, focusing on classrooms, research labs, and libraries.

Future Steps

  1. Continue engaging with additional sponsors and expanding the donor network.
  2. Enhance infrastructure as outlined in the sponsorship plan.
  3. Provide regular reports to sponsors on outcomes and community contributions.

Conclusion

Through organized initiatives in consulting, training, and attracting sponsors and donors, the Prince Sultan College of Emergency Medical Services enhances its infrastructure while forming meaningful partnerships. These efforts effectively contribute to achieving our mission of academic excellence, social responsibility, and community service.
