Course Description

The Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course is designed to equip healthcare providers with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively recognize and manage critically ill infants and children. This course emphasizes the importance of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, early recognition of respiratory and circulatory conditions, and the integration of advanced resuscitation techniques to improve survival outcomes.

Audience

This course is suitable for:


  1. Healthcare professionals involved in pediatric emergency response, including paramedics, physicians, nurses, and respiratory therapists.
  2. Professionals working in intensive care units, emergency departments, or pediatric units.

Course Objectives

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:


  1. Recognize and manage life-threatening pediatric conditions such as respiratory distress, shock, and cardiac arrest.
  2. Perform high-quality CPR tailored to infants and children.
  3. Apply the systematic approach to pediatric assessment (evaluate-identify-intervene).
  4. Use advanced airway management tools and techniques.
  5. Manage respiratory emergencies effectively.
  6. Perform interventions for bradyarrhythmias, tachyarrhythmias, and arrest scenarios.
  7. Demonstrate the effective use of team dynamics in pediatric resuscitation.
  8. Develop post-cardiac arrest care strategies specific to pediatric patients.
