Skills Development Unit - An Overview

It is one of the administrative entities within the college, organizationally linked to the College's Vice Deanship for Development and Quality. It is responsible for developing skills and enhancing the academic, educational, and research performance of faculty members, staff, and students in collaboration with relevant university entities.

Objectives

  1. Improve the educational, research, and administrative performance of all college members.
  2. Raise awareness about the importance of training, development, and continuous improvement.

Tasks

  1. Identify the training needs to develop the skills of faculty members and similar positions within the college by conducting needs assessments and proposing necessary projects to meet those needs.
  2. Participate in the annual plan for training programs, submit it to the Vice Dean for Development and Quality for approval, and forward it to the University’s Deanship of Skills Development.
  3. Monitor the implementation of training programs for college members in coordination with the relevant development and training bodies inside and outside the university.
  4. Evaluate and review the programs and prepare periodic reports on performance levels and beneficiary satisfaction with each program.
  5. Contribute to enhancing faculty members’ abilities to design and develop curricula and convert them into electronic content.
  6. Organize meetings for new faculty members to familiarize them with the regulations and systems in place at the college and university.
